About High Studies College

The Faculty of Higher Education was created by Law No. (91) for the year 1975 under the name of (Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research), and Law No. 129 for the year 1981 amended the appointment of faculty to current appointment (Faculty of Graduate Studies). It is the first faculty in the Arab region and the Middle East specializes in graduate studies for police sciences.
The doctorate of Police Sciences awarded by the faculty with the corresponding diploma issued by the universities in Egypt is equalized by the ministerial decree N ° (637) dated 12 \ 03 \ 2015 issued by the minister of higher education, head of the Supreme Council of Universities, it is also important to mention that the diploma of the faculty has also been approved by the Supreme Council of Universities.

Vision and Mandate

Vision :

To become the world-leading College in the field of advanced security research and postgraduate studies.

Mandate :

To prepare a modern police officer, scientifically and practically qualified, able to combine scientific data with practical skills, and use security research to ensure community safety and environmental protection, taking into account the rights of man and preserving his liberties.

Mission :

The Postgraduate Studies College is committed to prepare police officers to obtain diploma, master’s, and doctoral degrees in security sciences and to conduct scientific research in an environment that fosters innovation benchmarked to international quality standards, achieving community security.

Objectives

• 1. Preparing police officers to obtain diplomas, master’s degrees, and doctorates in security sciences.
• 2. Preparing security research to authenticate police sciences and achieve sustainable development goals.
• 3. Developing students’ security mindset, which serves community security.
• 4. Foreseeing the future to cope with security developments in a scientific manner.
• 5. Scientific and research coordination with regional and international corresponding scientific institutions.

Conditions of Admission to the College

Egyptian officers :

• To be a police officer working law degree and law degree.
• graduation success rate should not be less than 65% of the total maximum score for scientific subjects in the police and the law, at least he holds one of the graduate degrees which are considered relevant to police studies in accordance with Article 27 of Law No. 91 of 1975
• The length of service of the officer must not be less than three years.
• The report on functional adequacy in the last two years comes out of an excellent evaluation.
• The presidency of the officer agrees to enroll in the Faculty.
• The officers pass the written tests according to the system established by the Faculty
• The rank of the officer must not exceed a colonel.

Foreign officers :

• To be a police officer with a degree in law or a first degree from one of the faculties or higher institutes recognized by the Supreme Council of Universities in Egypt.
• The study must include in this degree enough eligible legal subjects to continue the study of the degree of which it wishes to register; according to the decision of the board of directors of the Academy.
• When enrolling a student in one of its diplomas, the faculty may impose additional courses that it deems necessary to register for this diploma, after having taken the advice of the scientific council and the approval of the board of directors of the Academy; so that the student passes a written exam and succeeds before passing the examination of this diploma.
• The approval of the Ministry of the Interior which the student depends on his appointment to the faculty.
• The student pays the registration and study fees determined by the Academy's board of directors.

Admission procedures :

• Issue the faculty application form to officers wishing to join; The brochure includes all the necessary data and the registration conditions and the required documents.
• All departments of the Department annually announce the conditions and dates of admission, admission requirements and all data and information related to the study in order to announce to the officers or mid-August of each year, and inform the General Directorate of Media and Relations at the Ministry of the Interior to notify the cultural attachés of the Arab countries to inform their officers, since the foreign officer can register for the faculty only through the intermediary of the cultural attaché of the embassy of his state.
• Officers pass level measurement tests according to the system established by the faculty.
• The Faculty will establish a committee to receive, review and review applications submitted by officers wishing to register.

Applied, cultural and social activities

Applied Lectures

The study plan included a weekly practical lecture lecture, in which security experts will lecture, in order to link the study with all the previous subjects in terms of the security situation and the latest events and variables on different national, regional and international levels to deepen the benefit of the scientific materials taught in diplomas, In order to deepen the use of theoretical materials taught in diplomas, and organizes lectures applied in the field of administrative sciences and criminal science and addresses the most important issues on the security arena and how to address and the impact on the development of security performance

Cultural Seminars

The plan includes a program to hold some cultural symposia to follow up the political, economic, social, regional and global events. The seminar will be held every week for all officers studying in all diplomas. The symposium will discuss the most important issues in the security arena. Or indirectly on security performance.

Field visits

The cultural aspect also includes the organization of field visits to some policing sites or related to police work to see and find out their latest potential, for example:(Criminal Laboratory of the General Directorate of Criminal Evidence , The crime scene is managed by the Public Security Department , Nasser Higher Military Academy )
