K9 is the leading guard dogs training and operating department. History of Egyptian Police Dogs started in the modern era in the 30s of the 20th century when King Fouad visited the department at The Police School in 1931. He instructed to establish a training system for K9. Major General\ Aziz Aly Elmasry Pasha assigned Captian\ Alsaeed Aziz Elalfy to take the initial steps to launch the project, so he started reviewing books and magazines tackling breeding, nursing and training dogs.

K9 Cooperates with the General Department of Anti-Narcotics General Administration (ANGA) to prevent Narcotics Procurement either through searching for drugs buried in the desert land or through searching bags, packages, cars, luggage, at air, sea and land ports.
In case of disasters, the K9 collaborates with Civil Protection Departments and Security Directorates in searching for survivals and corpses under ruins.
K9 participates with the Criminal Investigation Departments in solving crimes and identifying perpetrators.
Using dogs for guarding, chasing criminals, crowd control and securing playgrounds.
This stands for showing handlers' skills and how they can use their dogs in field performance at national events or paying visits to orphanages and hospitals (such as the annual visit to 57357 Cancer Hospital).
